Services & Fees

We can customize our services to fit your needs, but our most common birth doula package includes:

• Two prenatal meetings
• Phone and e-mail support leading up to your birth
• Loans of books, DVDs and other resources
• Birth plan assistance
• On-call availability 24/7, beginning at 38 weeks
• Attendance at your birth, however long it lasts
• Breastfeeding assistance immediately after your baby is born
• A written timeline of the birth from our perspective
• Photos of the birth, if our hands and attention aren't needed elsewhere
• One postpartum visit to celebrate your baby, process the birth and discuss parenting

The investment in a birth doula is $550. When you consider everything that goes into supporting a woman through pregnancy and labor, that's a bargain!

We offer gift certificates so that grandparents, aunts and uncles, or others who love you can help pay for your doula services. You can also pay with a credit card or make payments over a stretch of time. We're flexible. This makes a wonderful shower gift, and the benefits of a supported, centered birth last forever.

Check out our page for information on discounts for multiple services. Many couples find that contracting for a birth doula, childbirth classes and a postpartum doula gives them the best support to begin their parenting journey.

Ideally, every woman who wants a doula should have one! If finances are a big obstacle for you, we sometimes work on a sliding scale, or we may be able to refer you to a doula in training. Please ask.

Kind words:

“As a doula, Jessica was amazing in her support and guidance throughout our labor and into postpartum. It was a blessing to have her with us, supporting us each step of the way. Her presence at the hospital and her kind words to us and the staff helped to create a calm and supportive atmosphere. She made it possible to focus solely on the birth of our daughter. Throughout my labor Jessica kept a timeline of events and took photographs; these helped Matt and I reflect on our birth afterwards, when the fog of labor had set in. In times of uncertainty she was able to help Matt support me by reminding him of tips from class that were eluding him in the excitement, and by taking over when he needed time to rest through 17 hours of labor. Jessica continued to help us after Emma’s birth by calling to check in and stopping by to help with breastfeeding. We’re lucky she doesn’t charge what her help is worth!”
